Most local businesses already get their bookings on WhatsApp. The problem is that every booking is typed by hand: "What are your prices?", "Do you pick up today?", "What's in the monthly plan?" — the same questions, answered again and again, often late at night or while the team is busy.

A good WhatsApp chatbot answers those questions instantly and turns them into bookings. Here is how the one we built for **Next Wash**, a doorstep laundry service in Hyderabad, works — and the lessons that apply to almost any service business.

## Step 1: A greeting that leads straight to action

When a customer sends "Hi", the bot replies at once with a short welcome — hassle-free washing in just 24 hours, the website and the phone number — and three buttons:

- **Book Services**
- **Schedule a pickup**
- **Chat with us**

**The lesson:** don't open with a wall of text. Tell people what you promise in one line, then give them buttons for the two or three things most of them came for. Tapping is faster than typing, and it removes guesswork for both sides.

## Step 2: Book a service or buy a plan

Choosing "Book Services" offers the next decision: **Grab Our Plans**, **More Services** or **Chat with Us**. The business sells both single services and subscriptions, and the bot puts those two paths side by side instead of hiding one of them.

**The lesson:** follow your own sales process. If customers choose between a one-off purchase and a package, the bot should ask that question early, in the same words your team would use.

## Step 3: Plans explained, then chosen from a list

"Grab Our Plans" sends one message that explains the three options — an individual per-kilo service, a Bachelor plan and a Family plan — with what each includes: free pickup and delivery, delivery within 24 hours and a minimum order per booking. A **Select the plan** button opens a list, so the customer picks a plan without typing.

**The lesson:** WhatsApp list messages are perfect for "choose one of these". Use them for plans, time slots, branches or product categories. Keep prices in one place you can update easily, so the bot never quotes an old price.

## Step 4: Every service, one tap away

"More Services" opens a **Choose a Service** list with all eight services — wash & fold, wash & steam iron, dry cleaning, shoe cleaning, curtain cleaning, carpet cleaning, household essentials and steam iron.

**The lesson:** a list of services doubles as a menu customers didn't know they needed. Many will discover a service (curtains, carpets, shoes) they didn't know you offered.

## Step 5: A person is always one tap away

"Chat with us" appears at every step. A bot should handle the common questions, not trap people who have an unusual one.

**The lesson:** always offer a human option, and make sure someone actually watches the shared inbox during business hours.

## What makes this work

- **Official WhatsApp Business Platform.** The bot runs on Meta's WhatsApp Cloud API, so it can use buttons and lists, show a verified business profile and run on several team members' devices at once.
- **Short messages, clear buttons.** Every message has one job. Every next step is a button or a list.
- **The promise repeated.** Free pickup and 24-hour delivery appear in every flow — customers never have to ask.

## Could this work for your business?

If customers ask you the same questions every day — prices, timings, availability, plans — a [WhatsApp chatbot](https://www.webzosh.in/services/whatsapp-chatbot) can answer them in seconds and hand you the serious enquiries. Clinics, coaching centres, shops, salons and service businesses all follow the same pattern.

Want to see one in action? Send "Hi" to our own WhatsApp bot, or [tell us about your business](https://www.webzosh.in/contact) and we'll sketch the flow with you.
